April, April - dachte sich im ersten Moment jeder, aber für die Organisatoren Benedikt Mordstein aka BBoy Bench und Daniela Ribitzky war das Black Bear Battle im Freisinger Tanzzentrum alles andere als ein Aprilscherz.

In Attaching, ein südlicher Ortsteil der Bistumsstadt Freising, nahe des Münchner Flughafens, wurden die Tanzräume des 1. Freisinger Tanzsportclubs als Battle Standort auserkoren. Von außen erinnerte das Gebäude, inmitten einer ruhigen Wohnsiedlung, an den damals klassischen Neuzeit-Baustil der 60iger Jahre. Ruhig sollte es am Abend des 1. Aprils 2017 wohl eher nicht werden und so tönten schon die ersten Hip Hop Beats aus den geöffneten Fenstern des Tanzsaals als mehr und mehr Teilnehmer und Besucher vor Ort eintrafen.

Zwei gut gelaunte junge Damen empfingen die Gäste direkt am Eingang und übernahmen auch die Registrierung der Teilnehmer. Durch einen Gang erreichte man den großen Tanzsaal mit einem für jeden Tänzer traumhaften Parkettboden und natürlich viel Platz zum jamen. Beats und Breaks spielte DJ Chokz von Incredible Syndicate aus Ulm (Germany) ein und motivierte zum Bewegen. Kinder und Jugendliche waren in allen Ecken des Gebäudes zu finden, so dass die Veranstaltung von Anfang an einen jungen und dynamischen Charakter annahm.

Das 1vs1 Breaking Kids Battle stand als erstes auf dem gut getimten Zeitplan. Insgesamt 22 Kinder und Jugendliche bis einschließlich 16 Jahre traten in der Preselection gegeneinander an um sich der Jury zu präsentieren. Die besten 12 schafften es dann gemeinsam mit den eingeladenen "Great 4" - Granade (Germany), Alex (Austria), Maxi (Germany) und Ibot (Austria) in die TOP16 Runde.
