YOG Continental Qualifier for Asia & Oceania

GrigoEine erfolgreiche und umjubelte 3. Qualifikationsrunde im Rahmen von „Breaking for Gold“ ging am Samstag, 2. Dezember 2017 in Taipei (Taiwan) über die Bühne. Insgesamt 87 Teilnehmer aus 19 Ländern trafen sich zum pre-olympischen Wettbewerb in der Disziplin „Breaking“. Knapp 8 Stunden dauerte die Veranstaltung und präsentierte die besten Tänzerinnen und Tänzer der Kontinente Asien und Ozeanien in den Jahrgängen 2000 bis 2002.Genau um 10:03 Uhr startete das Team der WDSF mit dem Check-In zum 3. Qualifikationsturnier. Bei den B-Girls kamen 21 der insgesamt 24 qualifizierten Tänzerinnen, bei den B-Boys 66 von über 90 qualifizierten Tänzern. Grund hierfür waren VISA-Probleme und in einigen Fällen auch die Finanzierung der weiten Anreise nach Taipei.
Die Phase 1 – Preselection – startete mit den B-Girls und wurde anschließend mit den B-Boys zu Ende geführt. Hier war von Beginn an ein hohes Level erkennbar und den Zuschauern und Jurymitgliedern wurde schnell klar, dass in der aufkommenden nächsten Phase einige Überraschungsmomente und Highlights bevor stehen würden. Und so kam es.
Die Phase 2 – Round Robin – wurde pünktlich um 13:00 Uhr mit der offiziellen Begrüßung und verschiedenen Ansprachen eröffnet. Es folgte das von allen sehnlich erwartete Judges Showcase. Danach ging es in die Battles mit den TOP16 B-Girls und den TOP32 B-Boys. Innerhalb von etwa 4 Stunden folgte ein Highlight dem Nächsten. Unglaublich energiegeladene Stimmung, nicht endende Begeisterungsrufe aus dem Publikum und großartige Momente bescherten allen Anwesenden eine aufregende Zeit. Keine Spur von Langeweile.
In Phase 3 – der Knock-Out Phase – hatten die Japaner sowohl bei den B-Girls als auch bei den B-Boys die Oberhand und zogen mit jeweils 3 Tänzer/innen in die letzte Turnierphase ein. Am Ende setzen sich dann auch die Spitzenreiter B-Girl Ram aus und Shigekix aus Japan klar durch.

Phase 3: TOP4 Knock-OutAls Fazit ist anzumerken, dass die Struktur und das Level der TänzerInnen in Asien im weltweiten Vergleich sicherlich am Stärksten sind – sowohl bei den B-Boys als auch B-Girls. Nun steht eine spannende Veranstaltung 2018 in Japan bevor, bei der die qualifizierten B-Boys und B-Girls aus allen YOG Continental Qualifiern erstmals aufeinander treffen und um die jeweils 12 Plätze und den Einzug ins große Finale bei den Buenos Aires Youth Olympic Games kämpfen.
