Rede von MG für David "MexOne" Alvarado

25.09.2017 | Autor: Grigo

  • Ein wichtiger Mensch ist von uns gegangen!
  • David "MexOne" Alvarado hat uns verlassen
  • Sein Geist wird jedoch immer unter uns weiterleben
  • Wir sollten sein Vermächtnis entsprechend ehren
It was and is a very sensitive situation but it's important to respect and not forget the legacy of David "MexOne" Alvarado. For this reason and8 documented the facebook post of Martin Gilian aka MG to show how deep the impact of MexOne was to many people on the planet. From now on, his grave should be visited by all bboys and bgirls traveling to Florida (USA).

Love you Mex

This was supposed to be my speech at the funeral. I ended up freestylin' but this is what I wanted to say:

I met Mex for the first time after his jam Evolution 3 in 2007. I was a toy back then and Mex asked people not to upload video from the final battles. Of course I did that. Mex approached me politely online and I took the video down and asked him to buy first 20 t-shirts. And he was like yeah lets meet up. He gave me a chance right there at the start, even though I made a mistake. He saw potential in me and he was down to be my mentor. By 2008, I was already selling lot of Biggest & Baddest in Europe while still at the university in Florida. After my MBA graduation in 2009, I had to decide what to do next. Mex, was like: Do you want to work for someone else or be your own boss? Do you want to stop breakin' or else travel the world and enjoy our culture? In both cases, I chose the second option.

My MBA and 5 years at the Florida International University was nothing compared to life lesson that Mex taught me about life and hip hop culture. Thats why I decided to accept Mex's offer and moved to Europe to run Biggest & Baddest Europe and start the European version of Outbreak, Outbreak Europe together with my brother MK. We started living our dream. Back then, we were still toyz, if not for Mex and his Hip Hop standards, we would have made so many mistakes. He connected us with the world. The Squadron and Fusik become our family and we would see each other always at different parts of the world. Mex set the foundation for everything we have built since 2009 and he became part of my and MK family. Both my mom and MK's mom loved Mex.

MK and I learnt so much from Mex. I would spend 3-4 months a year with Mex, Spen, Gina, Bohn, John, and later William and Neri in Florida, working on the B&B and Outbreak. Besides breakin' we shared another common passion, which was soccer. We even won IBE soccer tournament together in 2015.

I am so happy I was able to do 1 week trip to Barcelona with Mex and Beanie in May. The dedication, the care and the father love that Mex was demonstrating was so inspiring for me. David was so much into his son, planning the soccer career for him. I will never forget this trip. Mex showed me how a real father should be.

Mex, your innovations and contributions are unheard of. If not for you, I would never know what it would be like to live a passion, travel the world and do what I love doing. My team and I will make sure that your legacy will live forever brotha. You were an irreplacable pillar of our worldwide Hip Hop community, but under your wings lot of promising leaders have been raised. So there is a bright future ahead for the scene because of you.

Mex you were a great visionary. You are a legend on every level, not only to me but to thousands people around the world. Family should be proud of you. David's mom, Mrs. Alvarado, you raised an amazing human being, always caring, always supportive, always easily solving any problems.

Mex I love you and your family and I will be always here for them. You will be forever in my heart. Much love from The Legits / Outbreak Europe team, Hasta La Muerte, Polskee Flavour and the rest of European scene and my mom and sister.

My deepest condolences to Beanie, David's Mom (Dona Alvarado), William, Adrian, Mariela, Gina, Spen, Felix, the homies from the Squadron and the rest of the family and friends.

Thank you very much for everything
Rest in Paradise mi hermano
We will keep your legacy alive!
