at the Flying Steps Academy Berlin (Germany) on August, 21st 2018
Introduction of the different working fields and specific items
Participants: 15 WDSF Team Officials for Buenos Aires 2018
Exchange, get to know each other and be prepared – that was the declared aim of the International Technical Officials (ITO) Meeting in Berlin (Germany) on August, 21st 2018.
From 09.00 am to 06.00 pm individual "Breaking for Gold" team members introduced their fields of work and responsibility in different workshops and gave insights into their tasks at the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
Here the emphasis was mainly placed on the topic “The Olympic Movement” including the work areas of the International Olympic Committees (IOC), the National Olympic Committees (NOC) as well as on providing information on the athletes. In the further course Storm, Renegade and software developer Dominik Fahr explained important aspects on the judging system.
A comprehensive introduction into the daily operations and the “Competition Rundown” was delivered by Thomas Hergenröther, Geraldine Zahnd and Patrick Grigo. In addition to the priority topics communication, social media and the Rule 50 Management they also discussed classical issues ranking from the rulebook to doping.
Despite of the long day all team members agreed on the necessity and the positive effect of this meeting and thanked the organisers and the WDSF for the invitation. “The spirit of Olympia is noticeable within the team and we are looking forward when things get started”, says Thomas Hergenröther, the official event delegate for breaking at the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
