After two Corona years and a successful one-time hiphop battle at the beginning of this year, we can finally kick off a new season on Sunday 24 April from 12.00 pm. It will be The Kulture of Hype&Hope as we know it: 4 editions, with 4 elements. Giovani and Marsha are organizing one of the largest hip-hop events in the Netherlands in collaboration with DOX. As usual, the atmosphere is Hype and the message Hope. Looking for an adrenaline shot where you can taste different cultures and styles? Join the warm and energetic hiphop community of The Kulture of Hype&Hope, which stands for: peace, love, unity and having fun.

Battle updates:

We kick off the new edition with a few adjustments. The Kulture Ranking starts from 0 with the Earth edition. This will be the first official event within the competition. The one-time edition last January in De Helling (Helling 7, 3523 CB Utrecht) was a success, this will be our new permanent location. In addition, breaking is no longer part of our main program.
(This time there’s one type of ticket for all visitors. There’s no participation or audience tickets.)

The Kulture of Hype&Hope:

The Kulture of Hype&Hope is one of the most known international hiphop dance events in the world. Dancers from all over the world come to Utrecht to compete against each other in a dance competition. In 4 preliminary rounds, spread over a whole year, dancers in different categories compete for the first place where a different dance style is highlighted for each edition. It’s not a competition in the classical sense, but a way to celebrate the love of dance hop culture. The dancers are placed in a ranking during the editions with a point system. At the end of the season, the final takes place during a special edition. The dancers in the top 8 will battle one last time, to end the season with one The Kulture of Hype&Hope winner.
