Candy wants to live in a world where there is harmony, appreciation, unity and joy. She was born in The Republic of Panama and raised in a United States military-connected family. She started breaking as a teenager, with her three biological sisters and cousin in the late 1990s after being introduced to the culture through a local hip hop shop called, "Poamlands." The owner gifted the girls the Honey Rockwell VHS tape, a raw collection of bgirls from all over the world. The Floor Angelz Crew actively competed from 1998-2004. They won countless local, regional, and national crew competitions. Notably, in 2001, the first RedBull Sponsored 3 on 3 Bgirl competition, Queen-B. In 2017 Candy also joined the legendary Boston Crew Floor Lords. Candy's solo competitive highlights include the first Bgirl 5 round exhibition battle in 2002 (Who can Roast the Most); ProAm (Solo Bgirl Top 4) 2003, 2014, Outbreak (Solo Bgirl Battle Top 4) 2007, 2008, 2009 in Florida. The Silverback Open (Solo Bgirl top 8) 2014 in Philadelphia, and Battle for Boston, Harvard, Cypher Queen 2017. The Floor Angelz began to host a biannual event called the Breaker Epidemic in Orlando, Florida from 1999 to 2003. It became a neutral ground for rival crews to meet and safely battle. It also lay a foundation for future promoters to make Orlando a breaking hotspot worldwide. As a hip hop educator, she has been spotlighted on: The Bboy Spot blog, RedBull Blog, and Laura Leandra Production, Artist of the Week, and News 13 Everyday Hero, Martha Cooper We Bgirlz book tour, All the Ladies Say documentary. For the last sixteen years, Candy has continued to represent as a breaking judge and is currently a licensed & certified WDSF adjudcator. In 2005, she judged the first Outbreak and since judged on such events as ProAm, Freestyles Session Qualifier, Temple Rock, For your Soul, Bgirl City, Rock the Floor Nationals, Rock the Box Nationals, Battle of Boston Harvard, and Real Deal Jam, Norway to name a few. She also received awards for her contribution and preservation of Hip Hop culture by PRO-AM Games International Conference 2013, Rock the Floor National Championship 2014, Bgirl City 2015, SouthEast Championship 2016, and a two-time Awesome Foundation Grant recipient, 2014, 2015 for her Urban Art pedagogy. After becoming a mother, her focus shifted toward community-arts engagement projects, emphasizing professional and personal development. She is President & co-founder, of Child of this Culture Foundation (501c3), is a community based organization who supports the community through the development of Breaking in the US; protects the image of Hip Hop Culture in education systems and empowers the next generation to find a voice through dance. From 2013 to 2017, she became a founding member and president of a trade association for breaking artists, the United Breakin Association (UBA). During her leadership of the UBA, she protected image rights and negotiated better terms for members. She also created educational resources for members on standards and professional development. When Candy is not traveling, consulting, Livestream commentating, developing Bbaby early childhood breaking pedagogy.
