It is a MoveMEANT Festival – Established in 2012, Street Style Lab (SSL) is a week-long festival that takes place in NYC, the birthplace of Hip Hop. SSL celebrates the global culture of urban art-forms. Our objective is to preserve, document and teach the origins of street culture while building the future of this movement. It's a space where teachers, historians and pioneers who have shaped and are shaping the evolution of these dances today, keep the oral tradition alive and pass down the knowledge and history to the younger generation.

SSL is a special opportunity for local and international dancers to learn more about the styles created and developed in New York City. It's a platform for international creative exchanges and cross-cultural interactions in the city that remains the epicenter of this global movement and culture to this day. The Festival provides a unique homecoming experience, paying homage to the roots of the culture.
