The world’s most prestigious breakdancing competition, Red Bull BC One, returns with the national finals taking place on Sunday, 22 March 2020 at District in Cape Town. South Africa’s best B-Boys and B-Girls will be competing for their spots at the Red Bull BC One Final taking place in November in Poland.

Red Bull BC One National Final Date: Sunday 22 March 2020 Venue: District (61c Harrington Street, Cape Town) Time: 1PM – 10PM
This year’s installment of the competition brings you the biggest face-off battle as 16 local B-Boys and 4 local B-Girls compete for the 2020 national title. The 10 B-Boy wildcards showing their moves in the national final will be B-Boy Benny, B-Boy Man Like B, B-Boy Toufeeq, B-Boy Meaty, B-Boy Shorty Blitz, B-Boy Charlton, B-Boy Kayzo, B-Boy Rhythm, B-Boy LyanKing, and B-Boy Kashief. The B-Girl final will be taking place on the same day with the following B-Girls wildcards going head-to-head: B-Girl Mids and B-Girl Courtnae Paul. The rest of the B-Girls will be revealed in due course. The competition is tough and the breakers will need to impress the judges to earn their spot in Poland.
B-Boy Benny, South Africa’s 2019 champion who represented the country in Mumbai, India is excited for the upcoming 2020 competition. “It was great to meet the new generation of breakers from around the world in India last year. The scene has evolved and I’m incredibly excited to see the new local B-Boys and B-Girls from South Africa compete in this year’s competition” says Benny.
The Red Bull BC One weekend not only features the national final but a full-day workshop which is free for all breaking enthusiasts to attend on Saturday, 21 March 2020 at The Quay at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. Breakers will be given the opportunity to make the Last Chance Qualifiers ahead of the National Final, where six B-Boys and two B-Girls will be chosen to compete at District the very next day for the chance to represent South Africa in Poland in November 2020. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to learn from the best in the game and possibly showcase skills on the world stage.
Red Bull BC One promotes the respect and understanding of the breaking culture while unearthing emerging talent in countries all over the world. With 16 world finals since 2004, Red Bull BC One has been at the forefront of the breaking scene worldwide and aiming the spotlight at emerging talent globally.
